Seedburo Equipment
Company Acquires Moisture Tester Technology
Seedburo Equipment Company of
Chicago, Illinois announced in late May that it has purchased
the design and software of two digital and automatic moisture
testers from Elaine, Inc. of Paterson, New Jersey, a long-time
manufacturer and service provider of grain, feed, and seed
moisture testers.
Elaine, Inc. has been a
Paterson, New Jersey based manufacturer and repair center for
the Motomco brand of moisture meters for over forty years.
Prior to December 31, 2002,
Elaine, Inc. had designed and produced a digital line of
moisture testers that automatically corrects for sample
temperature and calculates moisture values from a
microprocessor-based series of conversion charts.
The new Seedburo versions based
on those designs will be Model 1200D and Model 1200DS, available
in English and Spanish respectively.
Automatic Tester Design
Acquired
Also included in the acquisition
is the design of a fully automatic digital moisture
tester. This model design has been part of NTEP (National
Type Evaluation Program - www.ncwm.net/ntephome.html
).
NTEP is a program of
cooperation for determining uniform conformance of a type
between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST),
the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM), and the
states. The Seedburo Model 1200A Automatic Moisture tester
will be substituted into the NTEP program.
All repair and service parts
for older styles of Motomco moisture meters will continue to be
made available through the Seedburo designated manufacturer in
the Chicago area.
