Seedburo Console Germinators Range from sophisticated to basic models. They are available in single-chamber units when less volume is required and double-chamber units with individually controlled and monitored chambers.

Heliarc welded tubular steel base forms the foundation for the 304 type nickel bearing stainless steel chamber and cabinet. To preserve the controlled interior testing environment and prevent exterior condensation, high-density foam insulates the entire cabinet. Non-conductive materials separate the interior chamber from the exterior, and the doors are fully gasketed.

Stainless steel trays lift out for easy cleaning. Recessed reservoir drain, with convenient drain hose, is easily accessible and a screened based prevents rodent infestation.  Units are completely mobile on large 5" heavy-duty casters.

Level, constant heat is continually maintained through a water media, by specially designed high purity magnesium oxide and helically wound nickel-chrome wire heating elements. Elements are totally enclosed for efficient heat transfer and operator safety. Uniform refrigeration is maintained through the use of a 1/4 HP (F-12) air-cooled, high torque, hermetically sealed condensing unit. High quality cooling system components include: efficient fan circulation evaporator coil with thermal expansion valve, moisture-liquid indicator, filter drier, heat exchanger, and pressure control valve. All refrigerant lines are copper and fully insulated.  Double Chamber Models allow for cooling in only one chamber at a time.

AIR-HUMIDITY CIRCULATION

Unique forced air circulation design maintains an even, continuous, moist airflow throughout the cabinet. Perforated trays further enhance even humidity distribution to testing samples. Self-contained stainless steel water reservoir in each chamber assures a relative humidity of 90%. Temperature variation between trays is ±0.5° C, top to bottom.

Recessed eye-level instrument panel includes:

• On/Off switch with pilot light
• Mode selector switch
• Two (2) single setpoint temperature controllers; one for heat mode and one for cool mode. Operational range of 0° C to 38° C (32° F to 100° F) with variation factor of 1° C.
• Four (4) flourescent cool white tubes per chamber with hinged enclosures for bulb replacement (except on S6520 and D7140 models).
• Two (2) reset timers with pilot lights, automatically and individually control heat and cool modes. Selector switch allows manual operation, if required (models with timers only).
• 7-Day recording/indicating thermometer is extremely accurate and required no inking. Pressure sensitive charts, sapphire tipped stylus, manual on/off switch and pilot light are standard.
• Indicating thermometer has 5" linear scale (S6920 and D7440 models only).
• Exterior mounted dial thermometer (°F and °C) is provided on all other models.

Models S6920 (single-chamber) and D7440 (double-chamber) are fully automated and equipped with 7-day recording/indicating thermometers which require no inking. Pressure sensitive charts and sapphire tipped stylus are standard, providing the technician with highly accurate temperature record while eliminating messy daily inking.

Automatic reset timers alternately control heat/cool, and light/ dark cycles for the required duration of your test. Vertically mounted behind thermopane rear panel, fluorescent cool white tubes (4 per chamber) generate 4880 lumens for the photo test periods. These units may be set for continuous operation of any of the modes, freeing the technician from manual adjustments. Recorder and lights have manual override switch, should their function not be required.

Models S6820 (single-chamber) and D7340 (double-chamber) provide the technician with all of the automatic controls and functions of our S6920 and D7440 units, with the exception of the recording indicating thermometer. An eye-level, large dial thermometer is standard on this and our other models. Temperatures are shown in fahrenheit and celsius.

Models S6620 (single-chamber) and D7240 (double-chamber) are used when complete automation is not required. These models function with the same close temperature and humidity tolerances as their sophisticated predecessors, but are manually operated and thermostatically controlled. Light/dark and cool/heat cycles will produce the same accurate test results.

Models S6520 (single-chamber) and D7140 (double-chamber) are our most basic germinators. They retain all of Seedburo's quality construction, features and close temperature and humidity tolerances. Units operate manually, either heat or cool cycles, with no light/dark capabilities.
