PULL TYPE SEED STRIPPER

The PTSS was developed for use in rugged terrain and ecologically sensitive areas and lets you harvest the seeds you need, with little environmental impact. The standard dual-stage brush effectively combs the seed off plants, while the rotation sets up an airflow that pulls the seed into the easy to clean hopper. Or try the new, optional ripper head that is designed for more aggressive harvesting of tough-headed wildflowers such as Echinacea.

An easy to use sliding hitch converts from transport to harvesting mode in a few seconds with no tools needed. Integrated hydraulics allow you to couple with your tractor's hydraulic system for infinitely variable height control. Or use the manual hydraulic pump to raise and lower the PTSS-4 just as easily. Powered by a reliable Briggs & Stratton Intek 6.5 HP OHV gasoline engine (no power take-off required). It consumes about 0.1 gallon of gas per hour. Hydraulic lift allows smooth and easy height adjustments and with minimal training, one person can easily operate the stripper. A small 15 to 25 HP tractor, all terrain vehicle, or draft animal pulls the PTSS4 stripper. A light agricultural tractor is recommended for the PTSS6.

The PTSS is designed for harvesting natural areas; native prairies, wetland edges, alpine meadows and nursery seed plots such as native grasses, wildflowers, forbs, herbal and medicinal plants etc. Rugged design allows access to areas such as road allowances, rocky pastures, ditches and fencerows. Ideal for larger prairie areas, where due to ecological sensitivity, regular farm machinery cannot be permitted. Available with 4 ft. (1.2m) or 6 ft. (1.8m) wide reversible nylon bristle brush, it sweeps clean seed gently into the hopper, leaving the stalks intact - or you can set the brush to harvest leaves and petals of medicinal, herbal and spice crops. The harvesting height is adjustable from 4 in. (0.1m) to 6 ft. (1.8m) for both units, or with the addition of a height kit, harvesting height is 2.5 to 7 ft. PTSS4H and PTSS6H high lift models harvest from 4 in. (0.1m) to 7 ft. 8 in. (2.3m). Ship Dims.
